How are your classes organized each day?

Block Scheduling Vs 5 by 8 Timetable

In one of my classes the other day we looked at the different types of block set up's. A semester system is based on 4, 80 min classes per day while the linear terms go with 8 classes, rotating through 5 per day, so you get Math, English, PE, etc... Just 3 times a week, but all year. As future educators, what do you all believe is the best system? Or is one better then the other? Some pro's and con's were discussed in our class and I am wondering if you guys could offer any different insights. Or what your preferences might be as teachers?
